very cute dog found as a puppy on the navaho nation. great personality, she is playful and smart. Crumpet has no tail. update: september 24, xxxx. Crumpet had been adopted out but her owners responded to some pain that crumpet seemed to be having, and took her to a vet for x-rays. It was discovered that Crumpet has an abnormality (a "spur", likely congenital) along her spine that-- just rarely-- causes her to wince out loud. Crumpets adoptive parents decided that they didn't want to deal with this concern and returned her to us. Since she's been here starting in August, we have observed very little reason for concern. Speaking to the vet, they've advised the use of a mild pain relieving med for her occasional discomfort. A surgical procedure is an option, but that hardly seems necessary since she plays with completer vigor and joy and no observable pain. We can share vet info in depth upon request. Meantime, Crumpet would make a great dog for a family willing to give her a chance. adoptions typically require a "donation" of minimum 100$ that helps both defray our costs and helps weed out deadbeats (yes, they're out there). given that Crumpet has this potential health concern, we'll waive that fee to the right adopter. running dog ranch has borrowed a standard contract from petfinder which we require adopters to sign. it empowers us to certify that any adopted dog is taken care of in a way consistent with being a loved family member.
