Mighty Mouse was named for being a tiny dog when he arrived here early last year, but always willing to face down bigger dogs getting sassy with him. he was adopted and lived with a family for months without complaint, but the owner gave him up, i'm still not sure why... something a REAL owner could have dealt with, so it's just as well... anyway, he's a doll, smart, affectionate, sleek and athletic-- with a pointy nose like a woodpecker and giant ears like a mule. Guesses concerning the dogs breed are only based on my own limited knowledge of the wealth of breeds. you will be obliged to spay this dog when she is old enough. Running Dog Ranch is a Colorado Dept of Agriculture registered animal rescue facility asks a minimum of 100.00$ for an animal adoption to help defray the many costs associated with permanently housing two dozen animals, many of them geriatric and with considerable health costs. Obviously larger donations are more than welcome :-) yay! But mostly this is a labor of love for us. Finding excellent homes for the dogs is our first priority: it is too easy for people to claim they'll take good care of dogs but later to demonstrate otherwise. we will interview prospective adopters thoroughly so don't take offense: there will be a home visit and we require signatures to the standard Petfinder contract which legally binds you to high standards of care for the animal. And remember, the more dogs we adopt out, the more we can continue with our rescue efforts across the four corners! we can always use donations of dog food and cat food. cheers, chris vest and cathy piolino
